When you download, what do you do next. To use PS3splitter or what? I can understand games under 4gb but dont know how games with more?
Yes use ps3 splitter, when already split your pkg, copy file to packages folder on ps3, and instal with package manager from xmb chose ps3 system storage

Activating a package using a rap file requires few steps. It can be done with ReActPSN or PSNPatch. However, I will only describe how to do it with ReActPSN.
Format a USB key in FAT32.
Create the folder ‘exdata’ at the root of the USB key.
Move the corresponding RAP file for the games you want to activate in the exdata folder.
Warning: Do not rename rap files ! You need to leave their original ugly name.
Connect the USB key in the right USB port of the PS3 (the closest to the bluray drive).
Delete the ReActPSN user on your PS3 if it exists.
Create the account ‘aa’ (without quotes) and open the account.
Run ReActPSN and the screen should go black, then you should hear beeps and then the PS3 should reboot.
The user ‘aa’ should be gone now and the account ‘ReActPSN’ automatically created.
You’re done !
Download them both put the rap in the exdata file on hdd0 and install the pkg on your ps3

Certain PS3 games cannot fit on a FAT32 formatted external hard drive because certain files are larger than 4GB. In order to get these games working with multiman, you will need a program called Split4G to split the files, and then recombine them on the PS3 for playing. See video tutorial for more details!

what console are you use ? OFW or CFW ?
for cfw method, you can use hjsplit to split pkg files.
after the files splited, rename file extention from .001 to .66600 and .002 to .66601 and then do that again to the rest.
in ps3, open file manager on multiman and then copy the first file only for example .66600 file into internal hardisk on your ps3, you’ll can see file that you transfer for example 1gb instead 6gb.
