Resident Evil: Director’s Cut: Dual Shock Ver. is a Survival Horror video game published by Capcom released on September 10th, 1997 for the PlayStation.

Resident Evil – Director’s Cut is the re-release of Resident Evil by Capcom with some Added Elements. Whats there to say about Resident Evil that hasn’t already been said? This is the Original, so to speak, that really popularized the Survival Horror Genre. Trapped in a Mansion with zombies, scarce ammo and healing items, as well as the threat of each encounter being your last. The Director’s Cut Version adds new modes in particular one that changes where key items and weapons are located as well as a few other changes fans may notice. Aside from some pretty cheesy voice acting there is no reason everybody shouldn’t play this at lest once.

I still can’t believe it: in all these “enhanced” modern releases, no one thought to include the simple Japanese PS1 mechanic that lets you switch targets after using auto-aim. It’s such a small feature, but it makes all the difference in combat—yet the HD remakes, Origins Collection, and other re-releases completely ignore it.
And on top of that, someone actually added the Spanish Saturn voices, which look awful visually and still don’t have auto-aim. It’s wild: upgraded graphics, modern controls, extras like Wesker Mode… and they completely miss the gameplay feature that mattered most.
Truly, the “definitive” version still doesn’t exist.
