On 5.05 you must push “O” after each song to bypass black screen.

If you don’t know how to play it that doesn’t mean it’s a bad game
Looks like audiosurf to me. And the overwhelmingly positive reviews online are more due to his death than the game. I’d skip this for Audiosurf if I had to choose since you can at least add what you want, including this guy’s music if you’re inclined.
