Golden Axe: The Duel has a hidden Debug mode menu that remained secret for the last 29 years. This patch makes it accessible from the Character Select screen. Press Start and then L to access it.

The options on the menu are:

* 1P Name
* 2P Name
* Stage Number
* Potion Count
* Adjust Patn Bias
* Display Status
* Display Collision
* Timer Stop
* No Death
* Magic Point
* Display Blood
* Vitality Up

The “1P Name” option allows you to play as the normally-unplayable G. Axe character.
